Ex Libris Fibers: October 2023 Vendor

https://www.exlibrisfibers.com/

Ex Libris is a Latin phrase found on bookplates that translates to “From the Library.” Ex Libris Fibers yarns are bookish, moody, and sometimes spooky colors dyed by a former librarian, Rita. Based in Pittsburgh since 2018, Rita translates undershared stories and themes into intricate, layered colorways that might just haunt your dreams.

Each small batch is meticulously dyed by hand in a slow, mindful process using professional acid dyes while prioritizing sustainability. A selection of carefully curated domestic and imported wool yarn bases provides a remarkable palette to stitch favorite stories into treasured projects – or tell a new story of your own.

Flower Hill Farm is situated on 230 rolling acres in Armstrong County Pennsylvania and serves as home for a growing flock of registered Shetland and Icelandic sheep (in addition to 3 dogs, 2 cats and a varying number of free range laying hens). Carefully bred and selected for their quality fleeces, the sheep of Flower Hill Farm are tended to by Jodi Horgan, who owns the farm and is an avid spinner and knitter.

Jodi knows that happy sheep produce the best fleeces, and her sheep are cared for with love and attention. Sheltered by a restored Pennsylvania bank barn and with access to well fenced pastures guarded by Bear, a Great Pyrenees/British Mastiff mix, Jodi’s flock produces very fine lambs and fleeces.

Flower Hill Farm offers a line of Home Grown yarn curated from the sheep raised on our farm.
