So smooth and shiny! Blends great with your fibers for added strength and shine. This comes as a combed top preparation, so it is very clean, but still retains its delightful wave. These fibers have been hand-dyed in a rainbow of vibrant colors. Try spinning it fine and using it to ply with an art yarn. Available in 2 ounce braids.

More than just one fiber for a fun and funky yarn. Built on a base of wool, these hand-carded batts may contain any number of fibers including mohair, silk, cashmere, alpaca, cotton, llama, or sparkle. Some fibers are dyed and others are left natural. Spin it thick or thin. Use them for core-spinning. Split it long-ways to create a sliver or roll it and pull into roving. You can’t do it wrong. One batt is $5, but mix and match five for $20. Create your own unique color combination.

A clean preparation perfect for creating strong, smooth yarns. This is available in many different wool breeds including organic Polwarth, US-grown Targhee, white and fawn Shetland, and Blue-faced Leicester. Each 4-ounce braid has been hand-dyed individually.

Sheared from the sheep, washed, and dyed. You can’t get much closer to the animal than these locks. Fluff them by hand for a fun textured yarn, card them into batts or rolags, or just add a few here and there as you spin. Breeds vary, but each fleece is grown by a sheep in the US, many from Ohio and Virginia.

A light, textured prep that emphasizes the unique attributes of the breed. These fibers are available in limited quantities, as they come from small farms and are processed in small batches. Great for novices or those who are looking for an airy yarn.
Come spend four glorious hours spinning and chatting with other people who love fiber.
Enjoy shopping with six wonderful all spinning vendors. These vendors will also be available for chatting, since they’re in the same rooms as the spinning.

Oh my goodness folks.
Can I tell you I come away from IKS every time exhausted, but also just so happy. It’s a happy making show.
And it wouldn’t be half as happy if I didn’t have all of your to share it with. A great big thanks to vendors, volunteers, and the fiber arts organizations that made this a smashing day.
